Mythique

- on Decatur Street in New Orleans upstairs from The Whirling Dervish was an unusual and eclectic place even for New Orleans.
open from 10PM 'til ??? every night.
Unfortunately the building was sold and that was the end of Mythique as we knew and loved it.

I especially mourn it since I coulduse it for shoots - here is one with Keeya (actually Keiya Simmons) and Sarah - two amazingly beautiful creatures.

This was my 4th shoot with Keeya but I had never met Sarah and she came to the shoot because Keeya told her to.
I think what came out of this session is exceptional and I am very happy with it - here is but a selection of images...

If you are a photographer, read this and beware:

Some time after this shoot I left town for about a year. While gone I left my van and some stuff with Keeya.
Before I left she asked me if she could use the clothes and shoes I used for shots.
I said "No, those are props, I don't want you toand I am going to take some with me in case I do a shoot somewhere."
Her reaction was if not anger then sullenness. When I left I took some boxes with me.
Upon arrival there I realized all the shoes you see in this shoot were missing as well as some of the clothing.
I asked Keeya if the missing stuff was at her house. She told me no.

About a year later I showed some prints to friends in New Orleans and they told me Keeya had been seen wearing the shoes and dresses.
I confronted Keeya and she finally admitted she had taken the shoes and clothes, promised to return it - I even told her I would pay for shipping.
In addition, she left me with several old parking tickets, a long scratch on the van and a ruined wheel. None of which she has ever offered to pay for.

She never did return either the shoes or clothing, changed from "I love you and love to work with you, please let's do some more" to becoming abusive and started threatening me,
telling me she would ruin my reputation, send me "bad, bad karma", and more.
Her latest such email arrived early March, 2006. She just keeps at it.

And more important, not once did she apologize or tell me she was sorry she stole the stuff. Go figure.

Recently I learned from another photographer she is in fact posting nasty comments about me on Craig's list.
